Description: This event takes place in the waters off the small Cala Galiota beach. If you’re not sure where that is and can’t find a map, ask for directions to the Hostal Colonial/Colonia Gelateria…….the best homemade ice-cream in the resort! The beach is a short 2 minute walk away. The ungroomed part sand, part rocky beach is small and intimate, with the coastal boardwalk running around it and offering supporters a great opportunity to walk, cheer and take photo’s as you swim. Offering 2 Triathlon specific distances, the 220 Triathlon Corberana Challenge takes swimmers out of the sheltered cove and into the bay, taking a wide triangular loop that passes in front of the small rocky Corberana island before heading back towards the beach to the finish, or a 2nd lap. We’ll have a well-deserved drink and a tasty Ensaimada waiting for you at the finish! (A fantastic Mallorcan pastry!).
Important info: Please meet on the Cala Galiota beach no later than 10.00am. Entering/leaving the water is via a narrow channel, special care must be taken as the seabed can be slippery under your feet. Safety takes priority over registering a fast time!
This is a CHIP TIMED event. You need to make sure you have your chip with you. If you have already taken part in the Colonia Classics you’ll have a chip already – if not, you will receive your chip with your goody bag when you sign in, or when you enter the event as a late entrant.
Tow floats are recommended but not compulsory for this event.
Prizes: Medals will be awarded to the top 3 male and top 3 female finishers in both ‘wetsuit’ and ‘non-wetsuit’ categories for this event.

Feeding stations: There are no feeding stations for this event however safety kayakers and boats will have water & energy supplements available if required.
Registration:Registration of attendance and goody bag collection takes place on Saturday 24th of May at the BEST Centre. Late arrivals may collect their goody bag on the morning of the event at the start beach.
Late entries for this event will be accepted at the BEST Centre between 3.00pm and 4.00pm on Sunday 25th May. No entries will be accepted after this time.
Entrants must reconfirm their entry by signing in, immediately prior to each event.
Declaration: All swimmers are obliged to sign a declaration saying they are capable of swimming 1.9/3.8km. Existing medical conditions and medicines being taken at the time of the swim must also be declared for safety & insurance reasons.
Health & Safety: There will be a swimmers safety brief immediately prior to the event. Unless otherwise stated this will take place at the start point. Entrants must attend.
Water depth on this event will be between 2m and 15m.
Water temperature will be around 18/19C, but is variable based on weather patterns and water depth.
Medical Cover: Fully qualified medical cover is available during the event via safety boats and also at the start/finish points. Any illnesses or injuries occurring as a consequence of participation must be reported as soon as possible to the event medical team.

Start & finish: This event will use an ‘in the water’ start and an ‘on the beach’ finish.
Swimmers will be called to enter the water and to take up their start position approximately 5 minutes before the race start. The ‘in the water’ start requires all swimmers to line up as directed by the Chief Referee/Starter (who will be positioned in a boat and will issue instructions to swimmers once they have entered the water). Start and finish procedures will also be explained at the pre-race briefing.

Refreshments: There will be a selection of free refreshments available at the finish point. Please take rehydration and nutrition seriously to ensure rapid and full recovery.
