THE ENVIRONMENT

The beauty of Colonia Sant Jordi is that the surrounding area is all protected woodland. This means there will be no high-rise hotels, traffic and crowds, just peace and tranquility.

We can supply you with walking, hiking and biking trails that take you through the hinterland and coastline of Ses Salines. There is also sailing, fishing, kayaking, kite surfing, windsurfing, snorkelling, golf, tennis, horse riding, water aerobics, yoga, pilates, massage and spa treatments.

Further afield you have the Caves of Drach, a 20 minute drive away, which will take you on a subterranean trail through some unforgettable caverns and rock formations, including classical music at the underground lake.

Cabrera
CABRERA

Cabrera

The ‘magical triangle’ takes you from the beaches of Colonia Sant Jordi to the island of Cabrera. The whole archipelago is a national park of Spain (Parque Nacional del Archipiélago de Cabrera). Cabrera is the largest island of 19 which make up the archipelago, rich in wildlife and plants, protected species of birds and reptiles and fascinating underwater scenery. The island is 6km long and 5km wide. Visits include the harbour area, beaches, the castle and museum. You also can visit the 14th century Kosaren fortress, take a picnic and swim in the clear sea.

Any trip to Cabrera will stop at the Blue Grotto: a magnificent cave where the outside light is filtered up through the aquamarine waters, creating a wonderful gem-like quality. A trip to Cabrera will usually take a day, leaving at 9.30am from the port of Colonia Sant Jordi, and returning there around 5pm, or take the speedboat over for a memorable 3 hour round trip that takes in all the sites and gets you to the island in less than 15 minutes!

BLUE GROTTO

Two short paths marked on the island. One path leads to the castle on a cliff where at the top you’ll be rewarded with superb views across to the Bay of Palma. The other path leads to two idyllic beaches with different characters. One is sandy and the other has lots of rock pools. Both of course have clear, beautiful waters, perfect for swimming.
